Barb - centering your name on a stocking will take some counting. Find the center of the graphed name (could be the middle of a letter or space between two letters) and the center of the front of the stocking where the name will go. Count your tallest letter and subtract that from the count of the name band. Divide what is left by 2 so there are as many threads above the letter as below the letter. Once that center letter is stitched, you can easily arrange the rest. Don't forget to check if your name is too long for the space available also. Not fun finding out you don't have enough room after stitching half of it. Hope that is of some help.

Yes the Yarn Tree online catalog was down for a few hours. It is back up. My fault. Change one line in one file and the whole site goes down. What's the old saying... to error is human, but to really mess up need a computer. Sorry about the spam posts. This is a busy time of year for us for shipping. We don't always have time to delete posts.

Cheryle in Coquitlam, Canada: The name of the pattern you're looking for is "Country Grace" from Cross Stitch and Country Crafts magazine, December 1992. Ebay has 3 of them available right now (2 of which ships outside the U.S.). Just a note: they're NOT kits -- only patterns taken out of the seller's magazine. Just enter Country Grace under the cross stitch category to find them listed. Good luck and happy stitching! :-)

In regards to the Native American couple, there isn't one NA culture but hundreds. The couple might find it odd if you used a phrase or art from another tribal group and it's very likely one you find on the internet is mistaken on tribal origin or even mistranslated. I would look for a pattern that matches the couple's personal aesthetic tastes or interests (a cute pair of bicycles if they like cycling, a dog if they have a pet etc.).

Hello-can anyone tell me if they know of a wedding sampler pattern that is appropriate for a couple of Native American heritage? Thinking of something with possible appropriate symbols in a border and an appropriate verse. Thanks for any info anyone can share

I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to convert DMC color descriptions to DMC color numbers? I have a pattern called "Thunder Ridge" by Dimensions. Color names are the only given, since it was a kit. I made it once, but would like to make it again, since I still have the pattern. Sharon

Kathy, I am wondering if a local cross stitch shop would take unwanted charts and magazines as sort of a rummage bin. It could just be a freebie for anyone interested. At least you'd know the items would go to a home that wants them. I think the next time I visit my local store (local as in an hour drive away, I will ask.

Very interested in this site. Wondering if you ship to Canada and what the shipping would be? Thanks.

Kathy, you might contact Cobweb Corner. She specializes in buying and selling used patterns. There are several groups on Facebook like Stash Unload where you can list your items for sale, but that does take your time and most want to see pictures. If you are willing to do that, you can get some of your money back. There is also eBay, but again, it takes time to list, mail, etc. If you don't want to sell, maybe a woman's shelter near you could use a lot of it.
