Shakespeare's Peddler

Theresa Venette of Shakespeare's Peddler loves reproducing samplers and has a soft spot for ones that are in tough shape, with missing letters, holes, stains, and faded motifs. She also creates original sampler designs inspired by these schoolgirl lessons from the 1800's. She gets bored stitching samplers with too much repetition or mirror images, so she looks for designs that are a little wonky and a little weird: lopsided and mismatched elements, strange color combinations, quick-patch corrections and childish charm. With her rescued cats looking over her shoulder, she stitches many of her own models into the wee hours of the morning.
