Ann Ogden 1843

Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers. A reproduction of a piece dated 1843 and signed "Ann Ogden's Work." The top half of the design is centered around a passage which begins "Teach me to feel another's wo[e]" with large intricate roses on either side. The bottom half depicts a peaceful and abundant scene, with a young woman sitting in her garden with a cat, dog, and two lambs. She has two trees leaning over her, and her house is in the background. Stitch count 322w x 284h.
